Andrew Poder has a natural affinity with wood, and enjoys working with his hands. He began producing a wide range of unique pieces such as unusual writing slopes based on an original design. He is acknowledged by fellow craftsmen as also being highly skilled in the production of jewellery boxes with contrasting veneers, edgings and linings. He marks each one with an individual catalogue number i.e. 04 023, which guarantees that each piece is unique. The first two digits show the year, the next three give the box made in that year.
He has acquired such knowledge and skills through self development, and his appetite for learning. Andrew is always looking for new ways to improve the beautiful pieces he produces in his specialised workshop in his home town of Dorking.
Prime examples of his work are on display in selected galleries in the Surrey area. A full range of his work has also been exhibited at craft fairs in Surrey and the Southern counties. Andrew has also completed and continues to undertake special commissions in all areas of the range of work described above.
He will never compromise on quality for the sake of cost. He will never allow a single piece to leave his workshop in Dorking without satisfying himself that the highest quality of workmanship has been achieved. His customers are ready to provide full endorsement to this claim.
